Pastor Joel Brandt
Pastor Joel has had the opportunity to lead a variety of ministries, but has focused primarily on Evangelism, Discipleship, Children/Family, and Music ministry. His greatest passion however is preaching and he loves to help people discover and rediscover how practical, meaningful and relevant God’s Word is for our everyday lives.
For I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God that brings salvation to everyone who believes. Romans 1:16

Why our Church?
Here you’ll find a friendly, welcoming and energetic atmosphere.
Convenient times for worship and spiritual growth opportunities make it easy for you to attend church at Cross. Most folks dress casually. "Come as you are" is not only about what you wear, but about who is welcome. You will be greeted at the door with a friendly handshake and a warm welcome by a greeter, a staff member, or both.
Our hope is that each time you walk through our doors, you will discover how much God loves you, make friends and make a difference. We take the Bible seriously and we are not ashamed to lift high the name of our Savior Jesus. We’re not perfect, but we are forgiven.
What We Believe
God is the creator, maintainer, and ruler of the universe. By His own will and through His word he formed all things. God has eternally existed in three persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. These three are all equal and are equally one God (what we call the Triune God or the Trinity).
(Genesis 1:1,26,27; 3:22, Psalm 90:2, Matthew 28:19, 1 Peter 1:2, 2 Corinthians 13:14)
Possessing both a body and a soul, mankind was the crown jewel of God's creation. Although God created mankind in His own image and designed us to have fellowship with him, we became alienated from God through disobedience. As a result, all human beings are born with a sinful nature and choose to sin against God. Man is incapable of regaining a right relationship with God through his own efforts.
(Genesis 1:27, Psalm 8:3-6, Isaiah 53:6a, Romans 3:23, Colossians 1:21, Isaiah 59:1-2)
Mankind was created to exist forever. We do not simply fade away when we die but rather spend eternity either in loving union with God or eternally separated from Him. Hell is the eternal separation from God reserved for all who reject Jesus and rebel from God’s ways. However, God loves all people and wants them to love Him and one another. He gives eternal union, or eternal life with Him, to all believers who enter His Kingdom by faith in Jesus Christ.
(John 3:16, 1 John 2:25; 5:11-13, Romans 6:23, Revelation 20:15 Ezekiel 33:11; 1 Timothy 2:3, 4; 2 Peter 3:9; 1 John 4:16)
Jesus Christ is the Son of God. He is co-equal with the Father, yet, He is also true man, born miraculously of the Virgin Mary over 2000 years ago. Jesus lived a sinless life and offered Himself as the perfect sacrifice for the sins of the world by dying on a cross. He then arose from the dead so that all who have faith in Him would be forgiven because of Him. He will return again visibly to judge both the living and the dead and restore His creation to its intended perfection.
(Matthew 1:22-23, Isaiah 9:6, John 1:1-5; 14:10-30, Hebrews 4:14-15, 1 Corinthians 15:3-4, Romans 1:3-4, Acts 1:9-11, 1 Timothy 6:14-15, Titus 2:13)
Salvation comes by God’s grace through faith in Jesus Christ. Man can never make up for his sin by self-improvement or good works. Therefore, eternal life it is not something that we are entitled to on our own. It is an unearned gift from God.
(Galatians 3, Ephesians 2: 3-10)
The Holy Spirit
The Holy Spirit is the true God, equal with the Father and the Son. He makes people aware of their need for Jesus, and He works faith in us through both God’s Word and God’s special gifts of Baptism and Communion (what we refer to as the Sacraments). He also lives in every believer from the moment of salvation, providing us with power for living, and guidance in doing what is right.
(2 Corinthians 3:17, John 16:7-13; 14:16-17, Acts 1:8, 1 Corinthians 2:12; 3:16, Ephesians 1:13, Galatians 5:25, Ephesians 5:18)
The Bible alone is the inspired and authoritative Word of God. It was written by human authors under the supernatural guidance of the Holy Spirit and is therefore the supreme source of truth for Christian beliefs and living.
(Psalm 119:18; Psalm138:2; 2 Timothy3:14-17, 2 Peter 1:20-21, 2 Timothy 1:13, Psalm 12:6, Proverbs 30:5)
Christian baptism is like an adoption ceremony into God’s family. Through baptism, the Holy Spirit offers all people new life, and makes us God’s children. Baptism is therefore God’s work and is a life-giving washing that takes away our sins and connects us in faith to Jesus.
(Matthew 28:19-20, John 1:12,13; John 3:1-8; Titus 3:5; Acts 2:38, 1 Peter 3:21)
Holy Communion is a special meal that God gave believers to celebrate and remember the suffering and death of Jesus Christ. It strengthens the faith of the believer. In Holy Communion, Jesus offers believers His body and blood in forms of bread and wine for the forgiveness of our all sins.
(1 Corinthians 10:16-17, Matthew 26:27-28, John 6:54-58, 1 Corinthians 11:26)
